[R108] Unknown Artist - 250 Discojingles

Jingle collection from 1977 on the Jumbo records & tapes label. Like most jingle records it contains tons of annoying jingles and silly jokes ;) i didn't record these for you and only left the moogy, funky, breaky, orchestral, synthy stuff :) discogs

[HDD 583] Les Aiglons - Le Disque des Vacances

I found this great record a few weeks ago and wanted to rip & share it with you, but after a google search i found this great blog had beat me to it.

Check it out it's worth it. [HDD 583] Les Aiglons - Le Disque des
Vacances

[KR 5717] Kees Jagessar introducing Roy Jaggan

Surinam/Hindustan Record with great synth parts. Mainly bought this because of the picture of one of the musicians sitting behind a Roland Juno 60.

I was searching for some more info on this record but the only thing i could find was that Kees Jagessar is now the manager/singer of The Indian Orchestra

Enjoy!!

[6005 269] Soulful Dynamics - Dying snowman.

Ok i know this isn't going to be the best post on my blog (especially since i havent posted anything for such a long time) but i couldn't resist buying/posting this. The cover is great and in combination with the lyrics it's even greater. Only shame is that the music isn't really doing it for me :P

By The Savers - Help me [OM 36.454]

Found This 7" at a small recycleshop in my hometown, never heard of it but picked it up because in the notes i read that R. Romanelli worked(orchestration) on this record, Romanelli i knew from the space disco band Space.

Puppet covers

I Have a thing for puppets ehm well covers with puppets on them. And last queensday (traditional dutch holiday where most streets turn into a giant fleamarket) i found some nice ones.
I guess they're Argentinian. This one is the "best" one it's called "Mis Canciones" the cover has a quite disturbing mouse on it the recording is as disturbing and sometimes even annoying, But it made me laugh a few times even though i couldn't understand a single word they were saying. If anyone has more info or even videos of this character please let me know :) enjoy?

Second one is less disturbing and to be honest i'am quite happy that someone else took the time to rip this, after about 25 minutes of "Mis Canciones" i think i had enough :P But if you're up for more get it here

Călin Ioachimescu / Şerban Nichifor - Oratio II / Magic Spell / Miss Christina (Excerpts) [ST-ECE 02108]

Experimental neo classical record from Romania on the Electrecord label.
Main reason for me buying this was the great cover artwork combined with the information on the back that there was an ARP synthesizer involved in the making of this record.
The Domnişoara Christina (Fragmente) track is just amazing. Quite a dark atmosphere (synth & traditional instruments) combined with a whispering female voice, a really beautiful piece.
The other 2 pieces are nice too more abstract classical music but less synthesizer in these two though.

A little bit more info on Discogs

Enjoy!

Monroe - Polio for the people [SHOL2740]

Bought this 7" when i was about 12 years old in the local secondhand recordshop in Middelburg (portobello) . I bought it cause the sleeve and te title made me laugh. Later on i discovered this band was from the same area as where i grew up and saw their singer (Jaap Van Boven) play several times with his punk(cover)band Swindle. The copy i bought had already quite a few crackles back than and nowadays it sounds like it's recorded next to a campfire :P but still i think it's worthwhile to share especially the B side disco fever wich after all these years still is the A side for me. oh and Polio for the people skips once :S (damn) anyway... enjoy

"Legendary punk-rock cult-band from the Netherlands (Vlissingen, Zeeland), fronted by singer Jaap van Boven. They only released one single (Polio For The People / Disco Fever)in 1978. The single was very controversial. Around that time there was an outbreak of polio in the orthodox-protestant community in the province of Zeeland, because they refused vaccinations because of their belief. The picture sleeve showed the band around an open grave, with Jaap taking a crap on the coffin. “Is God your Shepherd, who commands… The Wheelchair dealer rubs his hands” is a classic line from the song’s lyrics. Jaap van Boven would later re-emerge in several other bands (such as Het Elektrisch Combo) and is still active in the local music scene." from http://www.last.fm/music/Monroe

Ken Freeman on Moog synthesizer - Infinity+One [OM 36.104]

Very nice moog 7" from 1973 by Ken Freeman. Iám still searching for a copy of his KPM library release "handplayed by robots". enjoy

"Ken Freeman (b. 1946) is one of the pioneers of electronic music. A band member in the 60s, he spent the early 70s building the Freeman String Machine, which can be heard in albums of the day from art rock (Pink Floyd) to soft pop (David Essex). A prolific session and touring musician, he has also worked with Francis Monkman, Mike Oldfield and the theatrical music composer George Fenton. His keyboard wizardry is also present on Jeff Wayne's 'The War Of The Worlds'. 'The Tripods' is probably his most important work of the 80s, but he contributed title music to several other programmes, most famously the enduring BBC drama series 'Casualty', and later 'Holby City" (from http://www.discogs.com/artist/Ken+Freeman)

Vicky - Tresch il cane col fresch [YEP records 00684]

Bought this 7" years ago on a small marketstand in Florence, Italy. The sleeve is quite ridiculous but made me laugh. I didn't know what to expect but when i arived back in Rotterdam and played it i was very happy the song is as silly as the cover! quite uptempo bombastic kids tune with one side human vocals and on the other side the doggy can do his thing. Enjoy! iám sure i did ;) Vicky

Arjune Popo - Dance with Arjune Popo [AP 2259]

My first post here is a rip of this great Arjune Popo album. Found it on the weekly second hand market in Rotterdam. When you see the sleeve and the titles you understand why i couldn't resist buying this treasure. When i came home and played the 1st track "Disco Baby" it was love at first hearing ! This tune is great and will stick in your head for years. The rest of the album is nice too but doesnt live up to the power of "Disco Baby" although the ballad "Oh Baby" is a beauty too! Can't find any information about Arjune and if he done more next to this record, if anyone has any info on him please let me know. The record is a private pressing i think the catalog # is AP 2259 and am guessing AP stands for Arjune Popo. There is an adress on the sleeve for Andre record center in Rotterdam but i guess there's not much information to get there anymore ;) Ok enough talking enjoy the record !! here
